Apostille FAQ's

What is an apostille?

A certification issued by the Michigan Secretary of State that verifies your document for international use in countries that follow The Hague Apostille Convention.

How long does the apostille process take?

Standard processing: 7–14 days
Rush processing: 1–3 business days (depends on method and whether courier is used)

Do all documents need notarization first?

No. Some documents (like birth/marriage certificates) need to be certified by the county clerk, not notarized. Others (affidavits, letters, power of attorney) must be notarized first.

Can you handle the entire process for me?

Yes. We offer full-service apostille including notarization, shipping, document verification, and submission to the State of Michigan.

Do you offer rush apostille service?

Yes — rush service is available with courier delivery to Lansing for faster turn-in. Please note that documents must be received by 12:00 PM for same day courier service.

Can you help if I’m out of state or overseas?

Yes — remote clients can mail documents to our office. We serve clients nationwide.

Which countries accept apostilles?

Any country that is a member of The Hague Apostille Convention. If your destination country is not a member, we can assist with authentication and embassy legalization.
